The Bristol Festival is being redesigned and wants the public to draw the blueprints at a meeting being held on Wednesday
The third Bristol Festival is planned to take place 24th-26th September 2010 in the city centre Amphitheatre and surrounding venues. The community festival sprung to life after the city’s beloved Ashton Court Festival ended in 2007, and underwent a complete redesign in order to create a grass roots music festival to showcase local talent. A series of public consultations, votes and surveys led the group to create the three day event in the city centre, including a multi nightclub after-party.
Now the group want to shake things up again and are inviting anyone interested in getting involved, or simply finding out more, to come along to an open meeting on Wednesday 20th January at 6:30pm at Hamilton House, Stokes Croft. They will be looking for ideas and suggestions as to what people would like to see at the festival, no matter how crazy, and will even be offering the opportunity for attendees to design the festival site layout.
They are also looking for potential performers, volunteers, event organisers and artists interested in getting involved. Being part of the team is a great experience as they provide training and networking opportunities, as well as the rewarding feeling of helping to create an exciting festival for the region. Representatives of venues and potential sponsors are also invited to get in touch to find out how working with the festival can be of great benefit.
