Arts & Business has been acquired by Business in the Community, after Arts Council England announced A&B would lose its core funding next April.
Business-led charity BITC has around 850 company members and it is one of the Prince’s Charities alongside A&B. As part of the deal, A&B chief executive Colin Tweedy is to leave his post and BITC’s Stephen Howard will lead both organisations.
A&B’s offices in Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland became independent earlier this year and the England-based staff has been cut from 60 to 20. The arts charity’s board of trustees stepped down at the end of last week, although A&B will retain an independent brand and keep its name.
