As part of its ongoing Dance Development Activity, Bristol City Council has commissioned the photographer and ex dancer, Irven Lewis, to run photo shoots with eight companies in order to develop their stock of dance images for advocacy and publicity use.
The council is keen to record and celebrate the incredible range of dance talent in the city and have put out a call to dance companies and artists to take advantage of this great opportunity to work with a much sought after dance photographer to capture the essence of their work. Each company or artist will receive a disk of photographs.
Interested parties can view Irven’s work at www.irvenlewisphotograhy.com.
Photographs will be taken both inside and out and successful applicants will be asked to select preferences from a range of locations. The shoots will happen between Tuesday 18th and Friday 21st October.
Katy Noakes from Bristol City Council said, “We would like to represent the full scope of established dance activity in Bristol and welcome applications from companies who meet the following criteria - You must be based and working in Bristol for at least 18 months, you must have a track record of local performances and classes / workshops, including at least one year at Bristol Harbourside Festival and you must have either websites or company Facebook pages”
