Bristol votes Yes for a directly elected mayor
The people of Bristol have voted yes in a referendum to decide if Bristol should have a directly elected mayor, although the turnout was only 24%.
An election for the mayor will now be held on November 15th 2012. George Ferguson, founder of the Tobacco Factory in Southville has already declared that he will stand for the post.
