The future of the Whiteladies Picture House is still up in the air after city councillors failed to agree on the latest plan to redevelop it. The decision on the application to convert the building into five flats and a gym has been deferred until a site visit has taken place next month.
The committee heard that more than 1,800 people have signed online petitions calling for the building to become a cinema again. Many more submitted statements and spoke against the application at the Council House.
The Whiteladies Picture House Campaign wants to restore the building and see it used as a mixed-use arts space. You can read more about their plans for the old cinema including infomation on how you can support them or get involved here
The application is due to be heard again on July 25.
