At Theatre Bristol we believe in giving visibility & profile to independent artists and producers, positioning them as leaders who are collectively responsible for the future of the arts, rather than reliant on a hierarchy of institutions.
One of the ways we have started to do this is by providing micro-bursaries for independent practitioners to attend conferences, events and other opportunities, some of which may usually only be attended by salaried staff. On their return we ask them to share their experience and learning with the rest of the sector by writing a blog, making a vlog, or more practically in a workshop.
We call this TB Agents and we want to expand it year on year – details of 2017-18 bursaries will be published soon.
Amy Rose, one of our first Agents, will be attending the Family Arts Conference in Bristol next week. She suggested it would be a good idea for people to get in touch to highlight things that might be of interest or concern, or with information about current projects relevant to the conference.
If you have anything that you would like Amy to know before she goes please email firstname.lastname@example.org and we will pass it on.
We need your help. We want to maintain this site for the 20,000 people who use it each month, but the technology it is built on needs serious updating. If you use the site please support us with a £3 donation, or whatever you feel able to give, so we can develop it and keep it a free and valuable resource for people who make and love theatre.
You can also give to us without costing you a penny by signing up to Easy Fundraising, so when you shop online from over 2500 retailers Theatre Bristol will receive a donation.
