Ailsa Richardson

My practice as performer, maker and facilitator/teacher investigates modes of perception and 'attention' by investigating the intersections between human bodies and environments. I have been engaged with making inherently collaborative, multidisciplinary and site responsive performances and events since 1997 and my approach has developed specifically through ongoing training in BodyWeather (originating in Japan) and with Goat Island Performance Company (Chicago).

Recent performances and residencies include in language of grasses (first conceived on NTW summercamp 2014), re-member 3 (a reprise) (with support from Holy Hiatus, Wales) and what_now 2014 at the Siobhan Davies studios, London. I also run a workshop programme (including the wildfeet and the hinterlands series) for artists/performers and the general public incorporating investigations of BodyWeather, the natural environment and solo and collaborative practice (see I am a qualified Movement Medicine teacher and faciliator.

I am interested in the ways in which my practice interacts with the performance of community (human and non-human) enabling new ways of being, understanding and instigating change.
