BishopstonPaul Hurley works predominantly in performance art, with occasional forays into video, photography and installation. His work is largely body-based and grounded in a strong theoretical and conceptual framework (which is not to say it’s devoid of humour). Having worked for a number of years on a series of becoming-invertebrate performances, Paul’s work has begun a departure in a new direction, exploring psychoanalysis, ritual and the classic action art aesthetic.
He’s presented his work internationally, has been involved in a number of artist-led projects and is currently affiliated with the University of Bristol and Arnoflini.
