I am a movement artist and choreographer working in the field of dance and physical theatre. My three strands are: performance, education and community.

In my practice and teaching I primarily focus on non-stylised movement and improvisation. I have a particular interest in relating these to places and finding physical responses to rural or urban sites. I bring attention to the unity of body and mind. Rather than working with set material, I use scores as guidelines for creative explorations.

I am interested in working across disciplines with other artists, embarking on collaborative journeys that could include movement, installation, sound, voice, writing, etc. Please contact me if you would like to experiment in this field.

I am currently studying for an MA in choreography at Dartington College.

Key Projects

Performance

Between 2005 and 2008 I created a variety of site-specific solo performances in collaboration with acoustic musicians. At Mayfest 2008 I performed “A Little Place to Call My Own” on the Wickham Theatre fly floor with harmonica player Tony Lloyd.

Research

As part of my MA research I stage performative interventions at Brandon Hill Park. The project is looking at how we connect to nature in the city, and if and how a deeper awareness of our interconnectedness with nature could be conveyed.
