Since 1994 under the Artistic Direction of Kwesi Johnson, the internationally renowned Kompany Malakhi has been creating unique and dynamic inter-disciplinary performances that fuse alternative movement styles such as contemporary dance, hip-hop, physical theatre, breakdancing, parkour and extreme sports. Rotations

a celebration of possibility and movement Kompany Malakhi’s latest show Rotations is a unique fusion of BMX flatlanding, breakin’ (breakdancing) and contemporary dance, creating a visually thrilling performance that is pulsing with energy, verve and invention. Across a stylised mini-skate park painted by world-renowned graffiti artist Paris, four highly skilled performers collaborate and unite through a fast and breathtaking series of high-energy twists, flips, breaks and world class BMX tricks.

Freestyle Forums

Kompany Malakhi’s innovative project Freestyle Forums is a new approach to performance that fuses freestyle rap with spoken word to redefine forum theatre. Shows create an interactive story where audiences shape the action to tackle issues that are affecting young people in the community. Concrete and Steel is a day in the life of an aspirational young man and the consequences of the decisions he makes. The audience are active participants in his story and help shape its narrative, action and outcomes.

Boxin

Boxin is an edgy tale of mindsets and misinformation, looking at prejudice and reconciliation through a dynamic mix of physical theatre, parkour, contemporary dance and hip-hop culture.
