Created by Matthew Austin from Mayfest
To mark their arrival, Bristol Old Vic’s new Artistic and Executive Directors Tom Morris and Emma Stenning have created Bristol Jam - the UK’s first festival of improvised performance, an audacious and playful melting pot of spontaneity for audiences of all ages.
Bristol’s love of improvised jazz is famous but Bristol Old Vic takes this further, throwing open its doors to a maverick week of improvised performance in all forms; from classical drama, comedy and storytelling to music, beatbox and film. From the 16 – 24 October, artists at the top of their game will bring extraordinary work to every corner of Bristol Old Vic, created on the spur of the moment.
