Casting call: Black Cherry (Short Film)

We are a all female crew based at Knowle West Media Centre looking for cast for a short film in Bristol, shooting at the end of March/ early April. These are paid roles. Contact: hollyblack.me@gmail.com with a head shot / show reel for more information (Producer)

 

- ANGE young woman to play 15 - 17 years of Indian/ South Asian descent

- BEN young man to play 15 - 17 years (white)

- PAM white middle aged ‘mum’

- DICK white middle aged ‘dad’

Black Cherry is a coming of age drama that looks at the issues of race, class and sex. Throughout the story this subtext is held back, but as tensions rise the sense that these issues may erupt, breaking through the veneer of tolerance, adding a dangerous and contemporary feel. Written and Directed by Kam Gandhi.

    Andrew J Cunningham
    Andrew is an intelligent and engaging actor. He works well with others in devising new work and is adept with text and improvisation for theatre and film, delivering truthful and entertaining performances. He graduated from the Bristol Acting Academy having returned to professional acting following a successful career in the environmental field. In the past year he has enjoyed success as lead actor in award winning short film Corner to Corner directed by young film maker Ben Mankin as well as a number of stage appearances having just completed a successful run of Sigurd the Dragon Slayer at the Tabard Theatre, Chiswick.
