 Professional Development opportunity: outdoor performance

As part of the Inside Out Dorset Festival 2012, Activate is bringing Jany Jérémie from France, a highly innovative French choreographer who has worked on an outstanding variety of large scale movement projects all over the world. Through her varied work Jany has successfully combined dance with music, text interaction, circus and open space.

This residency presents an exceptional opportunity for local practitioners (dancers, theatre practitioners, movement artists) who are interested in developing their creative practice outdoors, learning from Jany’s skill and experience in making outdoor, site-specific work. Participants will spend some time on the Saturday and into the Sunday making work in duets or small groups, in response to the outdoor environment by Pavilion Dance, Bournemouth.

During the weekend Jany will be looking to identify a group of 8 people keen to collaborate with her as Aeolians ; guardians of the Harmonic Fields installation on Portland during the Inside Out Dorset Festival.

If you are interested in potentially being considered for an Aeolian role, please note that you will need to be available in Portland initially between Wed 29th August and Sunday 9th September (10.30am - 7.30pm), you will not be required every day, time slots be agreed according to your availability. Note; there is no remuneration attached to this role but lunch and dinner on Portland will be provided plus travel expenses at an agreed rate.
