Expired: Call Out for Performers ; Deadline for application 25th September; Performance in November 2017

Laura Williams

Laura Williams

I have an exhibition of my work being held at Centrespace Gallery, Corn Street BS1 ( on 10th-15th November.

It will be called : Platform 2 - InsideOut

In the exhibition there will be a development of my abstract painting (linked with music titles) and new sculpture...loosely described as 'worry dolls' made from natural resources and simultaneously providing a shelter for little animals.

I am planning on making the gallery an installation in the theme of a forest/ or hidden wonderland for artworks & activity to reside.

So why am I telling you about this?!!

Centrespace is a lovely exhibition space and I want to create a hub of activity, drawing people to the exhibition that compliments the location and opportunity to collaborate with others.

I'm looking for choirs, performance artists, musicians, dance, drumming circles, puppets .... young. old ... any opportunists that would like to take advantage of the space and locality ... warm up to Christmas ... alternative rehearsal space ..etc. ... .... there's no money ... sorry / but if you can make it work for you it would be great to hear from you.

I'm planning on setting up the square area at the back of the gallery as a performance/ clear spot & happy to discuss ideas that inter-act with the larger exhibition area/ or alley outside, in addition to any assistance to make things possible.

I'd welcome drama/music/student groups who might like to perform site specific etc ....

There is also possibilities to run work-shops/ sessions if you felt you could make it work for 'you' as a facilitator.

Workshops I feel would be relative to the exhibition would be involving themes around ; celestial ceremonies, foraging, wreath making, print making, early years sensory (mud/clay/paint), puppetry, story telling, treasure trails and so on.

 Dates are;

Friday 10th November - Preview /Opening night 6-9pm with live music acoustic set

Saturday 11th November - Banquet / or if anyone knows caterers that want an alternative venue to do a 'pop-up' we'll support as much as we can. Facilities are basic for catering ... but tables & chairs are available etc. & we are well rehearsed at presentation. Time tbc / could work with performance both day & evening.

Sunday 12th November -

Monday 13th November -

Tuesday 14th November -

Wednesday 15th November -

I'm planning on gallery being open from 10am-4/5pm (mon-tue) but we can potentially stay open as late as 10pm .. so if you are interested don't be restricted to just the day time :)

I need the programme kicked into shape by 25th September to make the most of marketing etc, supported through Centrespace :)

Please don't hesitate to get in touch if you want any more information and you can follow me on twitter if you'd like to see how things progress. (

Hope the above makes sense and thank you for reading.

Please do forward if you know of anyone who might be interested.

All the best,

Laura Williams
