As an organisation Theatre Bristol thinks like an artist and works like a producer, inhabiting the space between the radical fringe and the wider world, co-designing, developing and translating new ideas into sustainable practice. We do this to help create the right conditions to make great art.
We want to do this with as many people as possible so we have an 'open door policy' and welcome input and good ideas from anyone who is interested in helping us achieve these ambitions.
We are rooted in Bristol, helping to make it the best place for anyone to make and experience live performance.
We're a team of artists, researchers, strategists and producers with a wide range of backgrounds, skills and experience. Artists are leaders at every level of our organisation. We also regularly work with Associate Producers either on specific projects or as as part of our commitment to supporting independent producers in the city. If you want to get in touch, please do.
Theatre Bristol was founded in 2004 and developed as an organisation through a series of projects funded by Arts Council England Grants for the Arts; Bristol City Council; The British Council; Awards for All; Leonardo Partnerships. We are a Bristol City Council Key Arts Provider and in 2012, we became an Arts Council England National Portfolio Organisation. Theatre Bristol is a Company Limited by Guarantee and has a Board of six.
