Prototype: Experiments in Theatre is a collaboration with Tobacco Factory Theatre and is supported by Bristol Old Vic. It takes place four times a year at the Tobacco Factory and allows theatre-makers from Bristol and further afield to experiment with new ideas in front of an audience. There are three to five short extracts of new work each time. It is a forum for genuine experiment rather than a showcase. The event has proved popular with audiences because it is informal, fun and a great way to see lots of different styles of performance all in one evening. After the shows, the artists who have presented work have a chance to ask questions of their audience to get feedback.
Prototype is programmed and managed by Theatre Bristol producer Katie Keeler. If you are working on a new piece of performance and feel that the dates work well for you and you would like some audience feedback, please email Katie on katie@theatrebristol.net for more information. The range of work presented is very varied and includes emerging and very experienced artists.
