Rachel Tillotson

Screenwriting Tutor based in Bristol. After completing a Drama degree at Bretton Hall College (1992) where she wrote, directed and acted in theatre plays Rachel went to the Royal College of Art to do a 2 year MA in film direction. She’s made several short films, winning numerous awards, including Clermont Ferrand, DepicT, an RTS and a BAFTA nomination. Rachel was funded by Film Four to make the short Fuel before attending the Cinefondation residency in Paris (Cannes film festival) in 2000/1 going onto direct television programmes and winning a BAFTA (2002) for the BBC drama Offside and an RTS for Girls in Love. Since 2004 she has been screenwriting and pursuing her own feature ideas whilst she teaches film. In 2009 she was a directing mentee on the UK Film Council guiding Lights scheme to David Yates (Harry Potter director); she also attended the BFI Think Shoot Distribute Scheme. She lives in Bristol.
