This tutorial will take you through creating an account on theatrebristol.net and creating your first listing.
If you’ve already created and activated an account you can skip to creating your first entry.
In order to add content to theatrebristol.net you’ll first need to create an account. Creating an account is quick and painless – all you’ll need is an email address. The steps below will take you through everything you need to know in three easy steps.
Open up the link above in a web browser. You might want to open it in a new window or tab so you can still read these instructions too.
The page that loads will look something like this:
Name: In the name field enter your own name or that of your organisation. This will be shown as the author of any content you add to the site
Login: This is the log-in name that you’ll use when signing in to the site. Enter a username that you’ll be able to remember. You can use any characters out of a-z, A-Z, 0-9, dash, underscore and the @ sign.
Email: Enter a valid email address to which you have access. An activation link will be sent to this email address which you’ll need to click before you can use your account.
Password and Confirm Password: Enter a password you’ll remember to secure your account. Passwords must be at least 6 characters long.
Subscribe to the newsletter: If you want to subscribe to our weekly ebulletin check this box. You can easily unsubscribe at a later date.
Once you’ve filled out the form, go ahead and click the “Sign Up” button at the bottom. Assuming you entered valid details you should get a confirmation message that looks like this:
You should receive a activation email within a few minutes with a link you’ll need to click in order to confirm your email address and activate your account. If you don’t appear to have received that email be sure to check your spam or junk mail folder, if you still can’t find it click here for instructions as to how to resend your activation email.
The activation email looks like this:
Click the link in the email or, if your email program does not support links in emails, copy it into your web browser and load the page.
You should see a page like this:
Enter the login and password details you created at Step 1 and click the “Log In” button.
You should now be signed in to your account where you’ll see a page like this:
Good work! Now why not add some content to the site…
It’s really easy to resend your activation email if you deleted it by mistake or can’t find it.
Simply visit the Sign In page
Fill in the form with the login name and password you chose at step 1 of “creating an account” and click “Log In”
You should then see a message like this:
Now check your email and continue with “creating an account” from step 2
