Theatre Raconteurs are a new Bristol based Theatre Company set up in the summer of 2008. The central aim of the company is to provide the highest possible quality theatre throughout the region using only actors and creative’s with a South West base. We are striving to find innovative ways to keep locally based actors in the region to further the efforts made by other companies and organisations to further generate a more organic ‘home grown’ theatre culture in the South West area... We have had a very good first year so far, starting with a sold-out An Evening With Theatre Raconteurs, a night of monologues, duologues and short scenes at the Hen & Chicken. We followed this up in February with a Successful run of Willy Russel's Shirley Valentine at the Alma Tavern, another sell-out production, with Rachel Bryant in the title role. Rob Benson will be off to the New York Fringe after his week at the Alma Tavern to perform his one man show BORDERLINE, and have ended 2009 on a Shakesperean high with two completely sold-out weeks back at the Alma with RICHARD III....!! (9/10 " A classic play crammed with talent.. your kingdom for a ticket! -Bristol Evening Post) All-in-all quite an eventful first 12 months for us, with a fire in our bellies for plenty more in 2010...onwards and upwards..WATCH THIS SPACE......!!!!!!
