Timothy X Atack

I'm a founder of Sleepdogs and member of the band Angeltech. I write for theatre, TV, radio, film and pervasive media. I occasionally perform stuff.

My writing has been commissioned by, amongst others, the BBC, Bristol Old Vic, Theatre Bristol, Paines Plough, Forest Fringe, BAC and Arnolfini.

I react badly if woken mid-hibernation, but luckily I can't climb trees.

Angeltech is a radiophonic pop group making blissed-out noises using unexpected equipment and a backlog of recordings that began in 1995. We've toured and released records worldwide.

Sleepdogs is a collaboration with Tanuja Amarasuriya. We formed in 2009 and we create things inspired by a love of hybrid approaches and inspirations in theatre, film, sound and live art. Places we've shown at include National Theatre Shed, Warwick Arts Centre, Bristol Old Vic, The Gate and Brighton Dome.

As a sound artist and designer I've worked with Neil Bartlett, Raucous Collective, the BBC, Lyric Hammersmith, Matt Lucas and David Walliams, Edgar Wright and Channel 4 TV amongst others.

In 2007 a series of tropical storms caused me to break off from my parent island and ultimately I was classified as a new, independent land mass.

Now and then I write critically about Live Art and Theatre (most recently for Venue in Bristol and Realtime in Australia) and I perform solo gigs under the name The Heath Robinson.

You can find out a bit more about me at my site here.

There's some extracts of music I wrote and performed for Sleepdogs here. And a sort of work-in-progress sketchbook of noises and oddities right here.

Plus there's a picture of me looking sad on, here.
