The Shakespeare Revue is an enthralling evening of music and drama inspired by, lampooning and celebrating the life and work of the Bard.

Directed by Mary McCallum and starring an ensemble cast from the Kelvin Players, the Revue features scintillating comedy and captivating song from acts as sublime as Stephen Sondheim and Noel Coward, and writers as diverse as Victoria Wood and Alan Bennett.

This run of a show first produced by the RSC in 1994 brings Kelvin Players' 2011 season to a stylish and apposite close, with evenings of delicious theatre and lively food to warm, cheer and thrill you through those long December nights. Hot and cold snacks will be served on Tuesday and Wednesday, with a three course dinner on Thursday through to Saturday.

The cast features both long-established and newer Kelvin members, all relishing the chance to stretch themselves and entertain with a night of manifold mirth.

"This is Shakespeare, but not as you've ever seen it," explained director Mary McCallum. "If you'd like to hear Hamlet at the music hall, see Othello interviewed by his future mother-in-law or watch Romeo re-enact the balcony scene with Lady Macbeth, then this is the show for you. Whether you know your Shakespeare or not, there's something in here for everyone."
