Theatre Bristol and Mayfest’s rather lovely Artist Breakfasts bring together artists and anyone else who’s interested for croissant-fuelled discussions about Big Ideas in contemporary performance. Expect to hear a handful of short, inspiring case studies from Mayfest artists and beyond to kick things off, followed by lots of talking, thinking and drinking of tea.
We're hosting two Breakfasts at Mayfest 2012. This is the second one and it asks, do artists have a responsibility to be political? and will take place at Spike Island on Saturday 26 May, 11am – 1pm. We’re still confirming who’s going to be talking, but we can tell you that the Co-Artistic Director of Theatre Uncut Emma Callander will be joining us, and Israeli artist Sivan Gabrielovich will be talking about the work of Running Blind. Further speakers TBC; watch this space.
The first Breakfast asks looks at how artists and scientists collaborate and it’s happening on Wednesday 23 May at Bordeaux Quay from 11am – 1pm.
Tickets are free, but please email mayfest@theatrebristol.net to let us know you are coming so that we can make sure we've got enough croissants.
