"The best drama experience I've ever had"

  • Pete_image_crop_gallery

That’s what Jade said about last year’s Tobacco Factory Theatre Summer School. And this year it’s back - even bigger and better than before!

Join us for an experience of a lifetime, working with top theatre professionals to explore physical and visual performance. Over this exhilarating and inspiring week you’ll discover your potential as a performer and develop your confidence, whilst making friends and having an amazing time.

Surprise yourself, challenge yourself and do things you never knew you could - in a fun and supportive environment. Highlights of last year’s Summer School included working off-site to develop movement pieces in response to local landmarks and exploring the Tobacco Factory’s nooks and crannies to create amazing site-specific mini-stories. The whole experience will be captured in a docufilm, which will be screened for friends and family at the end of the week. You can watch the docu-film of last year’s Summer School here.

The Tobacco Factory Theatre Summer School is led by Tid (former director of Bristol Old Vic’s Young Company) and Kwesi Johnson Artistic Director of the awesome interdisciplinary dance collective that is Kompany Malakhi. They’ll be working with ace designer Katie Sykes (whose work includes Cinderella and Ali Baba and the Forty Thieves at the TFT). The Summer School is supported by the Creative Youth Network.
