Mad About The Boy

Written by Gbolahan Obisesan
Directed by Ria Parry
An Iron Shoes production in association with the Unicorn

  • Madabouttheboy_gallery

Dedicated to making theatre that's "engaging, honest and irresistible", Iron Shoes bring their deserved 2011 Fringe First winner to Bristol Old Vic.

Boy wants to be bad like the rest.

Dad wants the best for the Boy.

Man wants the Boy to do what's best.

A lyrical tussle of will and minds.

Winner of an Edinburgh Fringe First Award 2011, this timely, razor-sharp drama sees a teenage boy fighting to save his reputation, torn between the influence of his family, his friends and his school. Questioning where responsibility lies, Mad About The Boy examines the growing divide between the generations who gave, those who earned, and those who demand respect.
