It’s been 40 years since the Mike Leigh first introduced the bombastic Beverley, and her over-wrought husband Lawrence to the world, bringing with them a night of car-crash comedy - and Demis Roussos' crooning - that has stood the test of time.

Beverley and Lawrence host an informal drinks gathering, while their neighbour, Sue’s daughter, Abigail, is having a rowdy party down the road. As well as Sue, they’ve also invited Tony and Angie, who are new to the neighbourhood.

What starts as an uncomfortable evening of forced fun, quickly spirals out of control as Beverley’s hosting style becomes increasingly aggressive. She schmoozes, slow-dances and drinks her way to a point of pure, delicious chaos - and by the close, everybody's asking – what did happen at Abigail’s Party?

The Alma’s in-house company, Schoolhouse Productions, return triumphant after their sell-out show, and subsequent tour of ‘A Doll’s House’, back in the Spring.

Praise for A Doll’s House;

“Powerful, thought- provoking theatre (…) which is bold, entertaining and thoroughly lives up to the high expectations I have of this young company.” ***** - 365 Bristol

“It was worth the ticket price for the final scene alone… the rest, is bonus!” **** - Remotegoat
