We were overwhelmed with applications for Testing Ground: Experiments in Dance 2017 and we are delighted to announce the fantastic artists and companies who will be taking part.
On 27th November at Circomedia, the evening will feature five short works-in-progress from the following artists:
It’s set to be a fantastic evening with a really varied range of performers and styles, and we’re really looking forward to giving these artists and choreographers a platform to try out new ideas in front of a supportive audience.
The focus of Testing Ground is dialogue and experiment. It was established to give dance artists and companies, emerging or established, the chance to test new performance ideas in front of a live audience. It is a platform to present the beginnings and possibilities of work and to share that through dialogue with the audience.
Because it is work-in-progress and each show is very different, you’ll find that some are already quite polished and some are still quite fragile. You might want to offer some feedback on what you’ve seen and understood. You might want to chat to the choreographers about their ideas and how they do what they do. Most of all though – please come to have fun. Expect an informal evening with lots to think about and enjoy.
