Weekly dance class exploring different dance styles from the North-east of Brazil, including Coco, Samba de Roda, Maracatu, Ijeixa and Symbology of the Orixas.

Come and dance along these vibrant rhythms, whilst learning about the Brazilian roots through movement.
Live drumming (dependent on drummers availability each week). All levels welcomed!

Week A Orixas movement & other dances from Bahia. Live drumming by Jon Hardeman & friends.

Week B Maracatu & dances from Pernambuco + 30mins carnival rehearsal. Live drumming by Afon Sistema, led by Jackson Lapes & Jake Calvert.

Thursdays 8 pm from 12th April till 19th July.
week A: 8-9pm 12th April, 26th April, 10th May, 7th June, 21st June, 5th July

week B: 8-9:30 pm 19th April, 3rd May, 17th May, 31st May,14th June, 28th June, 12th July, 19th July

We have some exciting performance opportunities with Afon Sistema this summer including, Bristol Pride ( 14th July) & Bath Carnival ( 21st July). Those hoping to perform are encouraged to attend as many classes as possible to prepare for these performances. Some extra rehearsals might be scheduled during 2 separate weekends.
