Cholmondeley Productions Lea Anderson
Commissioned by for Bristol Museum & Art Gallery’s ‘Museum at Night’ event, Lea Anderson’s ‘Trying It On’ is a new performed exhibition that animates a selection of costumes from The Cholmondeleys and The Featherstonehaughs’ archives.
Performed by six dancers with a sound track by Steve Blake and costumes by Academy award winning Sandy Powell, Emma Fryer and Simon Vincenzi, ‘Trying It On’ looks at class, gender and identity through the inimitable eye of one of the UK’s most memorable and iconoclastic choreographers.

‘Trying It On’ takes place alongside free admission to Grayson Perry’s ‘The Vanity of Small Differences’, and the evening includes dj’s, drag and an array of walkabouts and pop up installations from young artists at UWE and Creative Youth Network.
‘Museums At Night’ is a UK wide festival of ‘lates’ in museums and galleries. held twice a year, it invites all UK museums. galleries and heritage sites to throw open their doors after hours. This year’s festival takes place over 16 – 19 May 2018.
