In 2016 Bristol City Council partnered with Diverse City to launch Doing Things Differently – a celebration of equality in the arts.
This year, Doing Things Differently – State of the Nation 2 follows up the 2016 event to ask, are we are any closer to inclusion? What have you done or are doing differently? What has the impact been and what do you think needs to happen now?
This is a day to revisit the Doing Things Differently Manifesto, share triumphs and challenges, reflect on the last 18 months and reinvigorate conversations about equality in the arts.
Workshops, speakers and presentations include Marvin Rees, Mayor of Bristol, Thangham Debbonaire, Bristol MP, Jamie Beddard and Claire Hodgson of Diverse City, Colston Hall, BiggerHouse Films. Drake Music and many others. There will be an opportunity to enjoy the Grayson Perry Exhibition, The Vanity of Small Differences in the Gallery.
