An entertaining, irreverent, clever and saucy coming-of-middle-age music mock-umentary for the stage by Cornwall’s Trifle Gathering
Collaborating with performers and musicians from Kneehigh Theatre and Punchdrunk, Trifle Gathering’s latest show merges live music, comedy, pop videos and documentary interviews into a tale of very little sex, a smattering of drugs and the unexpected phobias from a life of rock and roll – a coming of middle age music documentary for the stage.
Two young men beneath the strip lights of a university bar. Dressed in their dads’ suits and fusing Celtic music with wasp drone recordings, this delusional duo weren’t destined for much. Following the rocky road of self-discovery involving a synthesizer, women band members and lots of music practice, they re-formed and quickly became one of the most influential electronic pioneers of the 20th century. N:Dless were thrust onto the electronic music scene with chart topping hits such as ‘Penguin In A Sparrows Nest’ and ‘Sushi Waitress In An Ice Cream Van’. Their debut album ‘Fur Coats In The Desert’ did really, really, really well. But all good things come to an end.
Following an unexpected spilt in 1998, fans were left free-falling. No explanation and many unanswered questions… until now. A reunion is on the cards but is a reunion what they want or even what we want?
It’s not Spinal Tap or Top Of The Pops from the 90s but if you liked those you might like this. Reality TV vs reality.
“We are in a the territory of Spike Milligan, a bit of Python and a fair smattering of the Goons.”
