EQUITY Meet Up in Bristol with Guest Speaker, Mike Tweddle – Tobacco Factory Theatres’ Artistic Director

Equity Bristol & West General Branch are pleased to invite Equity members of all professions and backgrounds, to our next Members’ Meet Up.

We are delighted to welcome Mike Tweddle – Artistic Director of Tobacco Factory Theatres – as our guest speaker. [find out more here]

DATE: Tuesday 21st May
7:30pm until 9:30pm, followed by a drink in the theatre bar.

Mike Tweddle is artistic director and co-CEO of Tobacco Factory Theatres. He is a writer, director and producer, whose work has toured internationally.
Previously, he was co-founder and co-directed BE Festival, former joint artistic director of Out of Chaos, and a founding director of international ensemble Babakas. As a freelance director and dramaturg, Mike has worked for a range of companies including Shakespeare’s Globe, Theatre Ad Infinitum and the National Youth Theatre. He grew up in Birmingham, went to University in Oxford and trained as an actor at the Jacques Lecoq School in Paris.

    Members attending the Meet Ups should gather in the main entrance/bar of Bristol Old Vic by 7:25pm, where a member of the committee will meet you, to take you to the Meet Up space (a rehearsal room, which is generously being offered for free to the branch by Bristol Old Vic). Some signage will be in place in the bar to help you find the group.
    We are pleased to announce that our trade union banner, commissioned through Equity’s ‘Unknown Funds’, has been completed and will be unveiled at this month’s Meet Up. [more info]
