The Kitchen Rules Longform Drop In is a weekly drop-in for improvisers who are interested in American-style longform comedic improvisation.
Workshops feature a heavy emphasis on scenework fundamentals and establishing truthful, grounded characters with fun comedic patterns.
Our drop-ins are focusing on Group Work and this workshop is exploring abstract performance pieces during an improv show.
Having access to 8 performers in a scene opens up a world of possibility to what an improv scene can be.
Physical theatre, impressionistic dream-like tableaux, tension filled silent rooms, quick fire tributes to TV/Movie genres, talent contests and everything in between is possible.
We will look at how the simple idea of true commitment and support raises the dumbest imaginable ideas into the most spectacular forms of theatre.
These sessions are OPEN TO ALL, but prior scenework experience and some knowledge of non-narrative longform is recommended.
