The Bristol Longform Improv Workshop is a weekly drop-in for improvisers who are interested in American-style longform comedic improvisation.
Workshops feature a heavy emphasis on scenework fundamentals and establishing truthful, grounded characters with fun comedic patterns.
Our drop-ins are focusing on Agreement and this workshop is looking at playing a voice of reason in a scene.
While saying “yes and” will lead to literal agreement, in scenes we need to agree with our scene partner and their intention.
We will discuss how to say “no” in a way that supports the scene, rather than a supporting an unusual character or moment in a scene.
These sessions are OPEN TO ALL, but prior scenework experience and some knowledge of non-narrative longform is recommended.
