 Irineu Nogueira

Irineu is one of top Brazilian dance teachers in the UK. He is a highly experienced and creative dance teacher practitioner and choreographer with a wide range of knowledge of different Afro-Brazilian and Brazilian dance forms.

This is his 4th visit to Bristol, after 3 successful workshops. On this occasion he will be offering two dance workshops:

* Orixas movement * : The Orixás are the deities of the Afro-Brazilian religion known as Candomblé. Each Orixá has its own particular characteristics, personality and domain, all expressed in a beautiful and powerful dance language. This workshop is inspired by these roots. We will explore some of the Orixas qualities, movements and rhythms. This workshop will be accompanied by traditional live percussion and singing, by Jon Hardeman, Jessamy Boydell, Nicky Barry and Jake Calvert.

*Samba no Pe* : Rio Samba, carnival style. This will include fast, sensual and glamorous dance steps and sequences that will make you feel in the heart of carnival.
