Physical Theatre Lab: The Seagull by A. Chekhov

Contact: Igne (Email)

Bristol Physical Theatre Project Bristol Physical Theatre Project

This workshop is for theatre makers, actors and directors who would like to explore the relationship between the body, movement, emotion and text whilst working with Chekhov’s The Seagull.

Inspired by the teachings Lecoq/Laban the workshop will introduce participants to a range of practical character and scene development techniques whilst working as an ensemble. A variety of exercises will encourage participants to move away from the psychological approach to character creation, engaging into a more physical and imaginative exploration of the play through the body, movement and space.

***The workshop is a combination between movement, voice, scene analysis and devising work.***

***Participants must be familiar with the play and choose a character/scene they would like to explore***
