Sketch Up: Performance Creation Lab
Working on a performance piece? Or want to? Storytelling, comedy sketch, physical theatre or spoken word?
A weekend workshop to craft your unique performance piece. With group exercises & 1 to 1 feedback.
THE WORKSHOP WILL EXPLORE
– Your creative starting point, using movement & imrpov excercises to identify your theme.
– Styles of performance & structuring principles i.e. narrative journey, use of space, use of rhythm, speaking with the body & movement.
– Your connection with the audience & structuring an emotional arc: offering audiences a complete journey, big or small.
Some people may come with a sketch idea or story in mind & others may have no idea what they wish to create. If the latter applies, you’re invited to bring an object, story, picture, anecdote… or other material to use as your point of departure.

Fri 6:30-8:30pm | Sat 11-6pm | Sun 12-8pm
Friday evening will include intro exercises & sharing a snippet (approx 5 min) of wherever you are with your work, even if that is at the VERY beginning, all will be welcomed.
Full days: there will be one hour lunch breaks.
Deborah Antoinette Performance:
Deborah has a deep passion for working with people, to connect them with their imaginations and bodies. She has over 7 years experience devising, directing, performing & facilitating.
She’s facilitated numerous workshops at Hamilton House in Clown, Physical Storytelling & Mask, with CoResist Collective, and in authentic public speaking – Speaking Out, at Embercombe.
Deborah is also training in Systemic Constellations – a group therapeutic practise, alongside her performance & facilitation work.
Recent performance includes ‘Queen C*nt – Sacred or Profane?’ & Storytelling Sundays at Hamilton House
She has directed and performed in shows and storytelling performances from London to South Korea including at The Wardrobe, Camden People’s Theatre & The Cube, Underbelly, and more.
