London 2012.  The country is euphoric.  And together.

TRUE BRITS captures the heartache caused by the devastating actions of a handful of people. Moving between the aftermath of the 7/7 bombings and the celebrations of the London Olympics, TRUE BRITS is the coming of-age story about a young man who wants to remain part of a British society that now distrusts him on sight.

An honest, humorous and hopeful play about wanting to love and be loved.

Written by Vinay Patel, BAFTA Breakthrough Brit 2016 for Murdered by My Father (BBC3), TRUE BRITS is Vinay’s debut play first seen at HighTide Festival and part of the Bush Theatre’s new writing season, ending with a three-week run at the Vault Festival in 2015.

TRUE BRITS is performed by Maanuv Thiara for a limited Spring tour before Maanuv joins the cast for the West End transfer of the Almeida production of Hamlet.

Directed by Ed Viney, former Assistant Director at the Royal Shakespeare Company.

TRUE BRITS is produced by Bristol-based Blue Brook Productions and comes to Hamilton House, Bristol, as part of a limited Spring tour.
