What information do we collect and how do we use it?

We collect personal data from you when you register to join our database, receive newsletters, contribute materials and join discussion forums. This information is protected by UK data protection law. We remind you about our data collection policy when you fill out your details on our registration form.

We ask you to provide us with details such as name and email address — many fields on our registration form are optional but certain fields are mandatory. The data we collect from you is an important function in realising the goals of Theatre Bristol, namely to build a networking tool for theatre practitioners. It also helps us to understand our site userbase and allows us to send you information regarding site or Theatre Bristol policy changes, such as modifications to our terms and conditions.

We do not share your personal information with third parties or send you Theatre Bristol communication without your prior consent — you must give us your consent to do so by ticking the relevant check box when you register on the site. Should you wish to terminate your subscription to our newsletter you will find an unsubscribe link at the bottom of each newsletter.

Publicly posted information:

The information included in submitted listing is published publicly on this website. While we take technical steps to prevent automated harvesting email addresses we cannot guard against manual collection by third parties of the data published on this site.

You should be aware of the fact that publishing personally identifying information on the internet potentially puts you at risk of identity theft and weight these concerns in mind when adding content to the site. You can find more information about preventing identity theft on this website: identitytheft.org.uk

Our opt-out policy:

You can opt-out from our email bulletin by clicking on the ‘unsubscribe’ link at the bottom of the newsletter.

Deleting your information:

If you wish to be removed from our user database at any time, you may do so at any time by logging in to your account and selecting “delete account” from the navigation menu. You may also separately delete your directory profile (if you have one) by selecting “delete profile” from the same menu.

Information gathered from competitions:

Occasionally we run competitions on www.theatrebristol.net. We will usually ask you to submit your email address so that we can contact you if you win. If delivering your prize requires it we may share that email address with another organisation, for example if you have won theatre tickets we will normally pass your details to the box office of the Theatre so you can collect your prize.

Job applications

We may advertise a Theatre Bristol job vacancy on our website which you can apply for via email. We collect some basic personal information which is not shared with any other party.

Links

www.theatrebristol.net contains links to other websites — please remember that when you click on any of these links you’re moving onto another site and that their terms, conditions and policies will apply when you are visiting their pages, and these may differ from ours.

Legal Requirements

While it is unlikely, Theatre Bristol may be required to disclose your user data by a court order or to comply with other legal requirements. We will endeavour to inform you of this requirement wherever possible, unless we are legally restricted from doing so.

No commercial disposal to third parties

Theatre Bristol does not sell, rent or distribute any personally identifying data from our users to third parties for commercial purposes without your prior consent.
