Brave Bold Drama are looking for an exceptional, Bristol-based female identifying actor-musician in their 20s who can play an instrument on stage whilst singing for their brand new production of Wonderland. The show is for family audiences with children aged 5+ but is also dementia-sensitive, so that older family members living with dementia can also enjoy the performance with their families.

Job Details

The Performer will be mostly playing the role of Alice inspired by Alice in Wonderland, but some additional multi-roling may by required. The role will include playing live music, singing, some object manipulation and some moments of improvisation based on audience participation. The performer will ideally:

  • Be physically fit and a confident physical performer
  • Be a confident singer able to hold harmonies, and a competent on-stage instrumentalist
  • Have experience of working in family theatre
  • Have experience of or be willing to learn about audiences who are living with dementia
  • Have experience in improvisation

Auditions will be held in Bristol on  Thurs 14th Feb and Sun 17th Feb depending upon performers’ availability. If neither of these are suitable let us know to see what other arrangements could be made.

Rehearsals will be for 3 weeks between 4th March and 5th April at Creative Workspace in Bristol.

Fees are Equity minimum. Travel costs will covered by the company if actors are willing to travel in one vehicle with the journey starting from our base Creative Workspace in Withywood. When touring to venues which are more than a 90 minute car journey from Bristol we will also arrange accommodation.
