‘Queen C*nt – Sacred or Profane?’ has successfully moved audiences to tears of laughter and provoked reflection on feminist issues at The Wardrobe, Camden People’s Theatre, Exeter Bike Shed, The Cube and Underbelly at Edinburgh Fringe. We have received Arts Council Funding for a SouthWest tour and seek a Lead Producer to work with us, as on strategy, marketing and production management of the tour.
We seek someone with experience in leading projects, dedicated to producing work to the highest standard, who is target driven. The ideal applicant will be confident in networking building with press & media, and would preferably have good contacts within the UK. We believe it would be ideal if applicants are Feminist identifying and are passionate about women’s & equal rights.
The 8 venues for the tour are booked or pencilled. And performances will run from November 9th until April ‘19: 22 days work over the touring period at £110/day.
The successful applicant will be asked to start on October 30th.
We have produced our own work until this point and have begun marketing the opening show at The Wardrobe. We are keen to find the right person for us and can adjust the start date if necessary. The lead producer will be working alongside us throughout the tour.
Leading on Strategy for the tour as a launchpad to successfully establish the name of the duo as a known and reputable makers of high quality theatre
To Market Shows
– with the aim of 70% house full at all venues
-sending press releases (focused on selected review publications)
– sending invitations to potential future partners (focused on specific development houses & venues)
-ensuring listings & features in local papers & online listings, mags, blogs
-to facilitate social media i.e. strategising & overseeing
-to manage the printing & distribution of posters & fliers (poster designs are complete)
– Liaising with the marketing person/team at venues to share strategies and contacts.
– Overseeing the budget
– Ensuring all marketing & show promotion meets the project aims.
– Facilitating an end of project debrief meeting.
