Deborah Antoinette Ward & China Blue Fish have collaborated to create a feminist comedy sketch show to reclaim the female body.
‘Queen C*nt – Sacred or Profane?’ has successfully moved audiences to tears of laughter and provoked reflection on feminist issues at The Wardrobe Theatre, Camden People’s Theatre, Exeter Bike Shed, The Cube and Underbelly at Edinburgh Fringe. They have now received Arts Council Funding for a SouthWest tour and are seeking a Lead Producer to work with the duo on strategy, marketing and production management of the tour.
We are seeking someone with experience in lead producing on touring work, who is dedicated to producing work to the highest standard and who is target driven. The ideal applicant will be confident in networking building with press and media, and would preferably have had good contact with the press in the UK and South West for other shows.
We believe it would be ideal if applicants are Feminist identifying and are passionate about women’s & equal rights.
The 8 venues for the tour are booked. And performance will run from early November till April ‘19.
Leading on Strategy for the tour as a launchpad to successfully establish the name of the duo as a known and reputable makers of high quality theatre.
To Market Shows
– with the aim of 70% house full at all venues
-sending press releases
-ensuring listings & features in local papers & online listings, mags, blogs
-to facilitate social media i.e. strategising & overseeing
-to manage the printing & distribution of posters & fliers
– Liaising with the marketing person/team at venues to share strategies and contacts.
– Overseeing the budget
– Ensuring all marketing & show promotion meets the project aims.
– Facilitating an end of project debrief meeting.
