Company: Viv Gordon
Viv Gordon is looking for an experienced and organised producer for an initial 18 day contract between Dec 2019 and Feb 2020 with a view to a long term partnership supporting Viv’s ambitious plans over the next 18 months – 2 years.
Viv is a theatre maker and survivor activist making work that creatively articulates trauma narratives based on her lived experience as a survivor of childhood sexual abuse. Her work is a campaign to forge survivor voice, visibility and community and agitate for change. The appointed producer will need to be able to engage with these themes and work within an evolving access model that supports Viv (and her collaborators) to do this work.
We are looking for someone who is strategic, thorough and kind, who has a commitment to and is motivated by arts activism and who has strong, relevant and current connections.
The outcomes for the initial 18 days include:
- Induction/away days
- Tour booking for ORAL for autumn 2020 with wrap around engagement activity – tour pack/engagement offer already developed.
- The development (budget/partnerships/collaborations) and submission of applications to ACE and other funders to support an 18 month programme of work to include a retour of ORAL with accompanying research project/campaign, development of Restless (has had successful R&D) and two new artistic projects Cutting Out and The Survivor Monologues R&D
The producer will work alongside Viv and Executive Producers Sarah Blowers/Strike a Light. Sarah Blowers has produced the majority of Viv’s work to date – this call out is to meet the need for greater producing capacity as Viv’s work grows.
The fee offered is £2700 for 18 days work to include local travel. Additional expenses available if staying away from home. Additional funding available for access.
