This role is a senior Programme Lead whose responsibility includes the successful implementation of a new arts and cultural development initiative for WsM. Working strategically, you will nurture new partnerships to benefit the arts and cultural sector, working closely with North Somerset Council, local businesses, tourism agencies, the health, education and regeneration sectors. Through this role you will support the development of new large-scale collaborative projects in WsM and help raise the quality of the arts offer for local residents, students and visitors alike and help raise the profile of the arts and culture in WsM nationally and internationally.


  • Plan, lead and deliver on all aspects of the delivery plan; meeting the priorities and outcomes of the programme
  • Build new cross sector relationships which ultimately benefit the arts and cultural sector in WsM
  • Attend network and strategic meetings including with North Somerset Council to ensure alignment with local and regional stakeholder’s strategic priorities
  • Identify and apply for funding to support the ambitions of the arts and communities in WsM including increasing CSR, sponsorship and philanthropy within WsM
  • Develop creative methodologies for consulting with communities and ascertaining the needs of residents to ensure a WsM arts offer is accessible to the widest possible audience 
  • Act as an advisor for artists and creatives, supporting and signposting them to commissioning, exhibition and studio space opportunities 
  • Support the arts and cultural sector to evaluate and measure its social impact and actively champion the arts in WsM
  • Support the promotion and marketing of all current arts and cultural opportunities and events in WsM, joining up initiatives and avoiding duplication
  • Contribute to marketing and communications particularly around the programme including writing content for blogs, web copy, press, media and social media 
  • Contribute to the wider placemaking and branding of WsM working closely with North Somerset Council and other partners
  • Report back to funders and commissioners including preparing written and financial reports 
  • Maintain up to date and accurate project budgets and cashflow
  • Manage artists and consultants to support the successful delivery of the programme
  • Administer the Advisory Group including setting up meetings and circulating meeting notes
  • Carry out any other reasonable duties as required
