Our theatre company creates innovative productions for family audiences, telling original stories aimed at encouraging a dialogue between generations. Our current production-in- development, Perfect, adapts the illustrated book by Nicola Davies and Cathy Fisher, telling the story of a young boy and the birth of his disabled sister. The show will include puppetry, an original soundscore and two performers. The show’s R&D has been funded by Arts Council England and we’re working in partnership with May Park Primary School, Sibs UK and Omnibus Theatre, Clapham.
We will be using projection as part of the performance and are looking for an animator to create original footage for the show, using the illustrations from the book as a stimulus. The show will be touring from Easter 2018, with most of the workload for an animator taking place in February-March, and there’s footage from the show’s work-in-progress showing in October on our website: www.tessabide.com. There is some budget for this work – but it’s imagined that this will take part as high-profile experience for the student/emerging animator’s course, and for the start of their burgeoning career.
