walks and talks

Are you a mid or late career artist and need a better platform for your work? Theatre Bristol wants to support independent experienced artists raising their profile and sharing ideas for the sector with people in positions of power.

The idea is quite simple – we organise a 45 minute conversation between a mid or late career artist and a significant contact at a partnering organisation. You both take a walk, the artist talks about their work and what they need for 20 minutes, and on your way back the person from the organisation talks about their work and how they might help the artist for 20 minutes. You can record the conversation if you like, or take a photo.

Following up we ask that the organisation either:

  • promote the artists work on your website and socials for a week, or…
  • invite them to work with you, or…
  • put them in touch with a significant someone else who could offer tangible support, or…
  • Let Theatre Bristol know that you’d like to take another walk together at another time

To Apply send a covering letter of no more than 1000 words stating why you want to go on a walk, and what you might want to share or ask in your time.

Please send this to: info@theatrebristol.net by 9am on 1st December.

Theatre Bristol will pay the artist for their time (a fee of £150) and manage the admin and expectations. We’ll work on finding a good match for your conversation and be flying the flag for people who feel their opportunities are limited and voices are unheard.
