Bristol Old Vic’s Engagement Team uses the transformative power of theatre to create participatory opportunities for young people in Bristol and across the South West. Working in partnership with communities, schools and other organisations, our team aims to affect change in the lives of our participants by improving confidence, raising aspirations, developing communication and self-expression skills, broadening team skills, encouraging reflective thought and developing creativity.
Bristol Old Vic Young Company is one of the largest regional youth theatres in the UK, home to over 350 young people aged 5-25 from across the South West who take part in an on-going programme of weekly sessions, theatre master classes, community projects and full-scale performances. We provide an environment of playful creativity; allowing young people to experiment with different techniques, genres and art forms guided by our team of professional artists and within the historic walls of the oldest continuously working theatre in the English speaking world. Our ensemble theatre features large casts of young people of all ages and abilities; learning skills that can contribute to a future career in the performing arts or simply build confidence and self-esteem.
Young Company continues to expand through satellite projects across Bristol, connecting with young people who find it difficult to participate in arts activity, to provide a rich education through the arts and develop deeper engagement with local communities across the city.
We are excited to announce that we are recruiting for the post of Young Company and Schools Producer to join the Engagement Team.
The Young Company and Schools Producer will produce 3 termly Young Company shows and co-ordinate Bristol Old Vic’s evolving offer for Schools across the city.
The Young Company and Schools Producer will report directly to the Engagement Director.
This is full-time position.
