Who are Unique Voice?

Unique Voice is a not-for-profit social enterprise proudly in our 7th year of operating. As a nationally accredited company we have achieved effective social impact by using the medium of drama. We work in schools across the city to deliver performances and workshops in PSHE themes such as Anti Bullying and Online Safety. Alongside this we run after school clubs and regularly fundraise to deliver targeted holiday programmes in deprived areas across the city. 

What are we looking for?

Our community services are expanding and we are currently looking to broaden our hub of freelance youth engagement workers to be involved in future community programmes. 

Community Programmes include after school drama clubs, parent paid creative holiday programmes, free creative holiday programmes for disadvantaged and vulnerable young people and one-off community events. 

We are looking for youth engagement workers who are confident delivering and assisting creative workshops to children and young people to work with us on a freelance basis, initially during the summer holidays. A passion for working with challenging young people is key to this role, with strong skills in building positive and effective relationships. 

Skills, Experience and Qualities needed


  • Experience and passion of working with children and young people. 
  • Interest in the arts and using creativity to help enhance learning.
  • To be confident working in a workshop environment 
  • To be open, encouraging and excellent at quickly building rapport with young people.
  • Empathise and respond to young peoples different needs, abilities and concerns, including young people with SEND.
  • Awareness of challenges faced by children and young people in Bristol. 
  • Are engaging, fun and imaginative
  • Full professionalism in all levels of work.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • To be flexible, reliable, and punctual.
  • To be adaptable to working in different environments, with children from different backgrounds and learning abilities.
  • An understanding of the issues and challenges faced by children and young people in Bristol.


  • Full, clean driving license and your own vehicle. 
  • Pediatric First Aid Qualification. 
  • Full professionalism in all levels of work. 
  • Skills and experience working with young people with SEND. 
  • Experience of working with children and young people from deprived areas in Bristol and facing multiple disadvantages. 
  • Experience in dealing with child disclosures. 
  • An Enhanced DBS registered on the update service.

All applicants will be required to hold an enhanced DBS check registered with the update service. This can be processed by Unique Voice at cost to the applicant however may delay start time.
