Artist’s and Performers Needed for New Theatre Piece

Organiser: Penultimate

Penultimate Theatre Company are looking for emerging artists from multiple disciplines who identify as female with a keen interest in live performance. This opportunity is for a new show in development, FE(MALE), which will be showcased at IdeasLAB, Theatre Royal Plymouth, on Saturday 7th December.

This will be an experimental piece of theatre with the chance for interested artists to help us make this show from scratch. We hope to find people from varying art forms: theatre, spoken word, dance/movement, film-making .etc. We want to test out these disciplines side by side, with a group of females who are expected in this society to ‘stand side-by-side’, testing attitudes towards gender and expectations. You do not need to be a performer but need to be open minded and comfortable being on stage.

We pride ourselves on collaboration, and though this is an unpaid role, we hope that this is the start of a long collaborative journey for FE(MALE) creating opportunities for ourselves and other young creatives as the piece develops and grows. We will take the feedback gained from IdeasLAB to work towards its full length debut, whilst sharing and receiving vital skills to further our crafts. You will need to be available for our first full day rehearsal Thursday 21st November 9am-4pm in central Bristol. If you are interested in being a part of FE(MALE) please send us an e-mail.
