Kiota are a new company addressing the issue of institutionalised racism in arts spaces. We are a political arts company and committed to anti-racist art through activism. We are currently looking for POC or BAME artists of any artistic discipline to showcase at our next 2 shows (On March 22nd and June 12th) You will be given 15-20 minutes to share your work and take part in a panel discussion about the issues that arise for POC artists in Bristol. It is also a great way to network and meet other artists you could collaborate with. Some of our previous artists have gone on to make further work following their meeting at Kiota. To see a short video of our previous work, please visit: http://thewardrobetheatre.com/livetheatre/kiota/
We are looking to eventually create a co-op where we run the company and make work together, however, we are just in the early stages.
If you are interested in being part of Kiota, please contact Aisha at Kiotabristol@gmail.com with a short description about yourself, what your work’s about and a short video of previous work. We’re looking forward to hearing from you!
