Bath Fringe Festival: BEDLAM FAIR June 2nd & 3rd June 2018
New Work Works – Call for Performers Expression of Interest
Bath Fringe (and Streats Ltd.) has been running Bedlam Fair (the outdoor celebratory and street arts bit) for over 25 years now. We’ve always liked to present and encourage new work and over the past few years have developed a programme to encourage and support new work / emerging artists in the sector and in Bedlam. Bath is well provided when it comes to sites for outdoor and intervention work plus our event is early in the season giving participants in the scheme a chance to find out whether the new work really works with a live audience … while there’s still time to fix it!
FUNDING IS NOW CONFIRMED and we’d love to hear from you if you think you satisfy some of the following criteria:
At an early stage of your career;
Are already established but want to try out new work;
Are based in the SW;
Are from a community that is under-represented in the performing arts.
The project offers companies workshop time before the performance weekend with matched outdoor arts professionals in order to hone skills and polish the shows, as well as business advice and a session with our events manager.
On performance days, artists are paid a daily fee; lunch is available and some expenses may be payable (travel/accommodation). The performance will be peer reviewed and a photographic and film record will be available and archived on our web-site.
If you are interested – or if you can pass on to people who might be – please sign up via the questionnaire here: www.surveymonkey.co.uk/r/XSPBHD3
The process for applications will be open to March 11th – but we’ll be making choices as they come in – so PLEASE fill in the form as soon as you can to be in with the best chance of taking part.
